Beta Chi Chi, Inc. is the Rochester, NY chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.
Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a national organization of registered professional nurses and nursing students founded October 16, 1932. The charter chapter, Alpha was organized at Freedmen’s Hospital in Washington, D. C. with the two-fold purpose of elevating the plane of nursing and increasing interest in the field of nursing.
Membership is comprised of more than 8,000 professional nurses and nursing students (male and female) representing many cultures and diverse ethnic backgrounds grouped into five regions according to geographic location. Chi Eta Phi’s motto is “Service for Humanity” and the focus of the sorority is health promotion, disease prevention, recruitment and retention of nurses, promotion of continuing education, mentoring and leadership development.
Beta Chi Chi Chapter, located in the Northeast Region, currently has 31 active members.
